Open-source policy

Public code is part of the deal.

WareBench’s default direction is strong-copyleft open source: reusable code, public provenance and a licence that protects continued openness.

The repository controls the licence

The LICENSE file in each origin repository controls the exact rights and obligations for that software.

Default intent

Unless WareBench decides otherwise for a project, commissioned public software is intended to use a strong copyleft open-source licence. Exact terms are project-specific.

Attribution and provenance

WareBench wants the origin to remain visible: WareBench, warebench.com and the origin repository should remain clear where required by project terms or the applicable licence. Downstream obligations are defined by the repository licence, not this marketing page.

Client project terms and the software licence are related but not identical documents.
